Until further notice, the shelter will be open by appointment only and there will be no exceptions. While we would normally encourage and look forward to our daily visitors and drop ins, our main priority right now is to ensure the health and safety of our staff, our residents and to also do our part in keeping our community healthy. Adoptions will continue and we ask that you visit our website, complete an online application and/or call us to schedule an appointment to meet the dog or cat that you are interested in. In doing this, we can limit the number of people in the shelter at any given time. Please call 518.873.5000 with any questions or concerns that you may have.
Anyone coming to the shelter for a scheduled appointment must wear an acceptable face covering to enter the building. We certainly appreciate your patience and cooperation with this and in helping ensure all of our safety.
Thank you for your continued support of the shelter and the work that we do. We can't do any of this without all of you.

Limited-Edition Paws Off North Country SPCA pet stuffies!
Because we couldn’t hold our annual Paws Cause event this year, we’ve decided to try something new. For the first time ever, we’re offering cat and dog stuffies for sale! Not only are these adorable animals ready for adoption, each comes with a removable “Paws Off 2020” North Country SPCA shirt to commemorate this oh-so interesting year, when we all need to stay home and keep our “Paws Off”! Each 16” stuffie includes a Velcro opening on the back to add a special note or trinket, perfect for personalized gift-giving. Each costs $25, with all proceeds to benefit the real dogs and cats at the North Country SPCA. These are available for a limited time only, so support your local shelter and adopt one or both pet stuffies today! Not recommended for children 3 and under.

Cindy is a tiny terrier with a large personality! She's around one, and sweet, playful, and spunky. Cindy is wary of strangers but once she warms up to you, she'll be your new best friend. This little princess wants to be the only pet to rule your household, and prefers older children. She loves to go on walks and play with toys, and enjoys dressing up!
