Driving directions from the Northway:
Drive 3.5 miles east on Rt. 9N towards Westport. After you pass the Essex County Fairgrounds, bear left onto Sisco Road. When Sisco ends at NYS Rt. 22, make a left turn. Drive half a mile - you will pass a NYS Boat Launch on Lake Champlain - and make a right turn onto Lakeshore Road. The shelter is about 200 yards on your left.
Driving directions from the South:
Take NYS Rt. 22 (also Rt. 9N) north until you reach the village of Westport. As you drive through the village the road drops into a valley and immediately comes back up again. As you approach the top of the hill the road splits. Bear to the right and continue on Rt. 22, which is also called Champlain Avenue. In about half a mile you will see a NYS Boat Launch. Make a right turn at the next street, Lakeshore Road. The shelter is about 200 yards on your left.
Driving directions from the North:
Take NYS Rt. 22 south from Willsboro or Essex. In the hamlet of Wadhams, continue on Rt. 22 by bearing left after you go over the concrete bridge. From the bridge, go a little more than 3 miles. Make a sharp left onto Lakeshore Road and go about 200 yards; the shelter is on your left. If you see the NYS Boat Launch on Lake Champlain you've gone too far on Rt. 22 - turn around in their parking lot and go back to Lakeshore Rd.
